What is Behavioral Health?

Behavioral health means mental and emotional well-being. From those struggling with mental illness – such as depression or personality disorder – to those with substance abuse disorders or other addictive behaviors, treatment is key to taking back control of their lives.

Behavioral Health Treatment Philosophy

We believe people seeking help for mental illness or substance use disorders should feel empowered and supported – not ashamed or embarrassed.

With a specific focus on integrating behavioral health into our primary care setting, Northwest CHC’s behavioral health team is creating a forward-thinking approach to providing care to people dealing with mental health issues.

Through collaboration and evidenced based practices we choose to focus our efforts on:

  • Routine Screening for and detecting mental illness for all patients we serve
  • Using internal resources and expertise to treat mental illness in its early stage
  • Using educating and skills building our goal is to prevent and reduce crises for our patients and within our community

Full Range of Behavioral Health Care

Behavioral health is an essential part of healthcare, and at Northwest Community Health Center, we are fully committed to providing our patients with quality behavioral healthcare services. We offer routine screenings to help catch any signs of mental illness in their early stages. We also provide education to prevent and reduce crises for the patients in our community. If you are struggling with any thoughts about suicide, we provide crisis intervention and support for individuals at risk of self-harm. We also offer ongoing support to help our patients develop coping skills and strategies to improve their mental health and well-being. Depression can be a very challenging and sometimes isolating experience. We want you to know we are here for you and can help you through every step of the recovery process. Our case managers will work closely with our patients to develop individualized treatment plans and connect them with the necessary resources to achieve their goals.

Behavioral Health Services for Children and Teens

Young people with behavioral or emotional problems often struggle at home and in school. Problems making friends, succeeding in school and participating in extra-curricular activities can become serious issues for children and teens. Our behavioral health specialists can help. Behavioral Health Services are available at Libby Middle High School weekly every Thursday during school hours with Jenny Anderson, LCSW.

At Northwest Community Health Center, we understand that finding a trustworthy primary care provider is important for maintaining both good physical and mental health. That's why our team of highly trained and compassionate primary healthcare providers is dedicated to providing the best possible care to patients in Thompson Falls, MT; Troy, MT; and the surrounding areas.

We offer a wide range of services, including counseling services that help you have the peace of mind that you are not alone in the battle you are facing. Our counselors work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans and provide ongoing support to help them achieve their mental health goals.

What sets our primary healthcare providers apart is their commitment to treating the whole person, not just their medical concerns. We take the time to understand the unique needs and circumstances of each patient to provide comprehensive care that addresses not only physical health but also social, emotional, and mental well-being.

At Northwest Community Health Center, we believe that access to a quality primary healthcare provider is a fundamental right, and we are proud to offer affordable, high-quality care to our community.
