Northwest Community Health Center (NWCHC) is looking for a caring, compassionate, experienced nursing professional that enjoys caring for children and prioritizes communication and engagement to work as a School Nurse. The position requires administrative work as well as direct clinical within the role and scope of his/her nursing licensure, promotes wellness, and provides appropriate health education in groups or on an individual basis. The School Nurse will also support the tracking, reporting, and follow-up on student immunization status, which will include the delivery of consented immunizations. The primary goal of the school nurse will be to maximize in-class time by reducing the incidence of health related absenteeism, reduction of health problems that impair learning, and promote the highest degree of independent functioning.
The successful candidate will be a graduate from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and hold a MT Registered Nurse license. In addition, he/she will need to possess the ability to function independently and within NWCHC guidelines, policies, and standard protocols. 1-2 years of clinical experience is preferred.
The position is full time, and NWCHC is open to a year round or seasonal employment dependent on the candidate’s preference. Wage will be determined on credentials, experience and qualifications, and NWCHC offers competitive salary and benefits.
