Northwest CHC Fundraiser 

Funds raised at the event are used for high-cost medical cost procedures like colonoscopies, unique specialized medical equipment, vision services and so much more. All of this is done with the goal of providing individuals with an opportunity to embrace a happy and healthier lifestyle. Join us for a night of fun with plenty of raffles and auction items. Plus, don’t forget about our trip raffle; only 75 tickets sold at the event for the trip. If the trip isn’t for you take the $2,000 cash option instead. Dinner will be catered by Kaiju. It is my honor to nominate Maria Clemons for the Dr. Frank Newman Rural Health Leadership Award. Maria, who currently serves as Northwest Community Health Center’s CEO, has been unwavering in her commitment toward patient-centered healthcare. Maria is a leader who has demonstrated her commitment to rural health through her work on behalf of Lincoln County.

Maria began working for Northwest when it opened its doors 18 years ago. She has overseen the growth of the Northwest from an office with one provider to a health center providing integrated care with nine medical providers, four behavioral health consultants, and two dental providers. Today, the health center cares for nearly half of the people in Lincoln County annually. In addition to integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services, the center also provides case management, legal, and WIC Supplemental Nutrition services.

Maria’s leadership is rooted in the foundational beliefs of the health center movement, and her impact extends beyond the four walls of the health center throughout Northwest Montana. Over the years, she has provided leadership for many of her community’s needs; helping people affected by the asbestos, a high number of teen pregnancies, ensuring access to affordable prescription drugs, and shower and laundry facilities for those in need. Maria is a fierce, thoughtful, and innovative advocate for her community.

In addition to the normal challenges rural areas face – limited internet and cell phone access, geographic distance, and travel in harsh weather – Maria has navigated politically sensitive challenges that often crop up in rural communities with professional grace and never falters to keep the health of all the people in her county as her north star.

In addition to her work at Northwest, Maria participates in numerous local community organizations. She has also served on statewide and regional workgroups statewide, providing a rural perspective on family planning, Health Information Exchange, Medicaid, and health justice.

Maria embodies Dr. Newman’s commitment to rural health – and belief that rural communities have the capacity to support high quality healthcare. She has lived that commitment through her work. Thank you for your consideration of Maria for this award.

COVID Vaccine in Rural Montana

April 28th - Annual Fundraiser

Preparations have begun for our Annual Fundraiser. We hope the spring will be in air by the time of our event. As most of you know, this event is not about raising money for Northwest CHC, it’s about helping our community with their healthcare needs. All money raised from our event is used to help our patients seek out high-cost medical care, assisting the growing homeless population in our community, or sometimes providing medical equipment. The list could on and on, but bottom line is that this fundraiser helps people embrace a healthier and happier life.

This is a program that the staff is very passionate about and has personally donated nearly $40,000 to the program since inception. Our dedicated CHC staff gets to see up close and personal how this program can be life changing to the patients they serve.

Throughout the night we will have a general raffle, silent auction and to top it all off we will be raffling another destination vacation. Sure, we could create a package that we think sounds fun, but if you’re the lucky winner you will be given the opportunity to create your own dream vacation with a $3,000 travel voucher. Just remember only 75 tickets are sold for the trip at $40 each.

We will continue in the tradition of King Crab or Prime Rib Dinner. Tickets for the event are priced at $45 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the Northwest CHC.
